Southwest Alabama Partnership for Training and Employement

We are Southwest Alabama Partnership for Training and Employment (SWAPTE) and we’re dedicated to building a world-class workforce with solutions to create a stronger economy.

The Clarke County School System believes that all children can learn and that opportunities must be provided for every student to have a safe, healthy environment with instruction that meets their educational needs. This system recognizes, that even in our rural setting, we are a part of an interdependent, global society and it is the system’s mission to educate students to be contributing citizens in that society.

Cultivate: STEM Educator Professional Development

Welcome to Cultivate: Growing STEM Educators professional development sessions (K-3 & 4-6), which are practical, plant science-based STEM lessons tailored to the Alabama Course of Study. Through a Cultivate partnership with Huntsville Botanical Gardens, we are an AMSTI Affiliate, and AL educators earn 3 credit hours per session attended. Attendees receive curriculum and resources to take back to their classrooms!

Dauphin Island Sea Lab: Discovery Hall Programs

We serve K-12 student, teachers and the public with a variety of informal education opportunities focused around coastal and ocean ecosystems and issues throughout the year.

AMSTI Training

AMSTI has three basic services: professional learning, resources, and onsite support. All educators in the state of Alabama with instructional responsibilities for STEM subjects are eligible to participate in AMSTI. Teachers who attend training receive the resources needed to implement the lessons in the classroom. Additionally, participating teachers are eligible for follow-up support during the school year delivered through coaching and professional learning communities.

NatureNauts Academy
